Hi,
on a fresh 11.2 install the sound stutters (test sound in Yast, playing a wav-file or an audio CD): it's like the sound would be played twice with small pauses.
Where can I search for solutions? (I don't mean google - i've googled 2 hours now... ;-) )
thanks for hints
Daniel
I googled again with no success. I followed http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - with no success: - installed alsa-firmware - reboot, no change - deleted the sund card in Yast, re-configured it - reboot, no change - "head -n 1 /proc/asound/card0/codec" gave me codec IDT 92HD75B2X5 - searched the ALSA-Configuration.txt file for the codec IDT 92HD75B2X5 with no luck - read in a forum I could use "model=hp-m4" and so changed /etc/modprobe.d/sound: removed the original line "options snd slots=snd-hda-intel" and entered "options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4" rebooted, no change - added "enable=1 index=0" to that line, rebooted, no change - run the script alsa-info.sh, results are here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=5d9fd9023f11f4230e2104433a814da7ab817176 - searched the alsa site for the Codec IDT 92HD75B2X5 with no luck - tried to find the info for Alsa-update-snapshot, but wherever I click, it says "TBD - openSUSE-11.2 is still under development with release planned in November-2009" and there's no link for the update for this kernel version of 11.2 So, what else could I do??? I'd really be greatful for any help. I convinced a friend to abandon his xp-machine and change to Linux. Now that is very embarassing, especially as he's living in Asia most of the time and his Laptop is his one and only music source... Any help, pleeeeaase... thanks Daniel -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com erotic art photos: http://www.bauer-nudes.com Madagascar special: http://www.fotograf-basel.ch/madagascar/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
