I suggest you try the instructions on http://en.opensuse.org/Firefox before continuing this thread.
Here is the adventure of updating Firefox, and its surprising conclusion:
# zypper addrepo --refresh ... # zypper refresh ... # zypper install mozilla:MozillaFirefox ... Nothing to do. ... So supposedly all is well. But a look at "About Firefox" shows that what is there is v3.5.9, not v3.6.3.
Why?
You did it the hard way. The instructions you followed don't tell the whole story or get the whole job done for those who already have 3.5.x installed. IOW, that page needs help, and it's not really your fault what happened happened. Above the instructions you followed is a 1-click link, which had you clicked on, should have gotten the repo properly configured, and 3.6.3 installed as replacement for 3.5.9. If you go into YaST2 now and search Firefox, you should see 3.5.9 is installed and 3.6.3 is still available. Tell it to install 3.6.3 (the newer version available) and you should be done, but afterward go into repo management and confirm the mozilla repo has a higher priority than the standard 11.2 repos. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
