Hi,
I updated to Thunderbird 52.9.0 yesterday night, and I just had two crashes in half an hour. Report automatically uploaded somewhere.
Problem is in libxul.

Another issue that I have, since about a month, is that Thunderbird suddenly goes 100% CPU load and does not respond to mouse clicks or keyboard, till it finishes a few seconds later. Happens frequently, but perhaps less with the current version.
I have noticed this in the past as well. I always thought it was my ISP's misconfigured imap servers. I also have a large number of filters, so I know there is some additional processing going on -- but still, I see Tbird spinning away for what seems like an eternity on startup some times. I have noticed that if Tbird gets stuck like this for too long a time, killing and restarting it generally brings it back to life where it plays nicely again. That said, I haven't had any "extra" issues or crashes since updating 42.3 to 52.9. If you are on 15, then that may be a separate issue. My experience with 423 has been fine with the update. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
