Hi, The subject is old, well known problem, mentioned on many web pages and mailing lists around world. Samba and DosEmu doesn't see each others file locks while using the same files. If you use only Samba, locking works fine. If you use only DosEmu, locking works fine, too. But, if LAN users use Samba to access some file, and there is some (remote) users which connects to server using telnet and DOSEMU to access the same (database) files, they don't see locks (and can destroy database content). This is not bug of any mentioned program, they just use different way of file locking. So, if any of you had the same problem and got solved it, please share it with us. This is big problem, because it is not concern only Samba and DosEmu, but many similar situations. Solving this problem will solve many heterogeneus solutions. The only thing I found recently is http://www.recital.com/products_samba.htm, but I not tested it yet. It looks like a answer to this problem. Have any such experience? Bye, Ivan Gustin
