on Wed, 26 Jan 2005 22:27:16 -0600 try this: new string: network.protocol-handler.app.mms value: /usr/local/bin/gmplayer (of course you can try opt/kde3/bin/kaffeine also. i do not have kaffeine on my Suse 9.1. i prefer gmplayer)
new boolean: network.protocol-handler.external.mms value: true
i tried this on a whim and it works for the site videos you provided but i do receive this error and i dont know what it means:
Couldn't resolve name for AF_INET6: www.name-of-domain.com (could be a mplayer error)
but it plays the videos Ganesh
Hi, Ganesh. Thanks for reply.
I made both the changes you suggest above, but I'm still getting the same error message ("mms is not a registered protocol").
I do not get the error message you described.
Should I leave my about:config set with the 2 changes you suggested or should I return them to default settings? Thx Gil
I did the two changes as suggested, closed Firefox, started Firefox and was then able to view the videos on the page in question. Perhaps restarting Firefox is was is needed if you have not done so. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
