Sorry, I missed this earlier. Is waiting for a couple of hours long enough, do you think? This is what my wife has done: switched off FF, gone to watch her favourite TV "shows" (a term I use most loosely :-D ) then returns to restart FF.

Complain to the devs so that they do this faster or less intruively or something.
Aren't they here already? I thought someone stated recently, quite categorically, not to "stir s***" - so to speak - here otherwise the devs will abandon this forum, take their ball and bat, and sulk off home :-) .
