Hello,
I installed the OOo 1.1 beta2 on my machine to mainly look at it to see what improvements have been implimented. It installed fine but it cannot find my java environment. I used the program jvmsetup and told it where it was but it returns that no jave environment was found. I know that this is a OOo question but I have noticed some users on this list that were using it and might have gotten it to work. I'm using the java that came with 8.2. Any suggestions on how I can get java recognized?
Thanks,

If OO reports that no java environment was found, then just point the OO installer to the location where your java is installed. Since you are using SuSE 8.2, your jre is somewhere around usr/lib/Blackdown/... or usr/lib/jre2/... or usr/lib/java2. The OO installer will let you browse around until you find a jre that the installer will accept. I have had to do this for both the OO and SO beta's. Much easier IMO to help the installer find an existing JRE than to install an additional JRE. -- Ralph Sanford - If your government does not trust you, rsanford@telusplanet.net - should you trust your government?
