Notice there is an '/etc/logrotate.conf' file, but also an '/etc/logrotate.d' directory, where most of the actions is now.
Here is the first part of the .conf file to the section to where it blows out:
As you updated, check carefully mail sent to root: it will contain important news. Also, probably you have a '/etc/logrotate.conf.rpmnew' or similar, which is the file that would have got installed on a fresh install. Compare both files, and change as apropiate.
