Listmates,
I found it to run from the command line, but how/where is the icon or like in control panel or the menu for kmenuedit in kde4?
In fact, there are a zillion KDE apps that do not get in the menu. And there is the odd duplication of items. That last one is a mystery to me. I run kmenuedit, and see the two menu entries. When I go to edit them, the content is identical in all I can see. However, the menu entry has often appended KDE3 to the menu entry shown, even though it is not in the text as seen in kmenuedit. All very mysterious. There used to be a way to search for installed apps and select to have them added to the menu if they were not already there. It was not perfect, but I think that capability is long gone. While on the topic of the K menu, what is the 'logic' deciding if something is 'System' or a 'Utility'? I am forever looking through both to find things. For example, why are things like File Managers, Terminals and Remote access considered System and not Utility? Why are things I do to my own desktop considered System when I am not changing things for the whole system - only for my own account? I would vote for a top level called Configure, with only two levels below that called Personal and System. Then put ALL ALL ALL config apps in one of these two places. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
