I have a small local network (2 Windows, 1 Linux) and I have shared folders on the Windows machines and disk shares on the Linux machine. I am using Samba to set this up. On the Windows machines, all the shared folders and all the disk shares show up in the Windows gui file manager. However, I have not been able to get either KDE or Gnome to show me the shared folders. Is there a way to access Windows shared folders via a gui, preferably the KDE file manager (Konqueror)?

Good evening. You call the Windows pc as a web site in Konqueror using the address smb://TheOtherPC/ It works well in my small net as long as windowsXP PCs have their firewall off.
Thanks for the pointer. I tried both Windows machines and got "access denied" on both so I guess I need to look at my permissions. But now that I know how it's supposed to work, I can troubleshoot it. Don Henson
