I'm not sure, be I think that yast ask *before* beginning any install (on the gui), when zypper ask only when installing the offending package.
Yes, yast asks before. Zypper I don't remember, I don't use it much.
i thought i'd replied to this before, and i had -- only to jdd, unfortunately. having a spate of unintentional personal replies again lately :( zypper does the same: it refreshes everything that needs refreshing, then calculates what it's going to do with the info available: packages in various repo.s, repo priorities in case of 'zypper dup', then it presents the user with the available options to the dependency conflicts, if any. only when that's done does it start downloading & installing. to solve dependency issues, i prefer YAST, too, since it's easier to see what happens when deciding to keep this or break that... -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
