From someone on the Toshiba Laptop Linux mailing list. (Don't have the name on this machine, though.)
But thanks for the advice! I'll give it a try tonight when I'm back home. rgds, Henrik -----Original Message----- From: John Andersen [mailto:jsa@pen.homeip.net] Sent: 18. marraskuuta 2002 11:37 To: Hahnsson Henrik; suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] Problems with 8.1 Pro: Sound On Monday 18 November 2002 12:21 am, you wrote:
As I do not know how well the Tecra implements ACPI I've tried commands like "apm=on acpi=off" and "pci=acpi" in boot.local, but they seem to have no effect at all.
In boot.local???? Where did you get that idea??? Those parms belong on the lilo/grub boot parameter line. You know, that blank line that appears as the counter blocks ascend.... Just press space bar and the counters stop. Jump down and put pci=acpi on that line and try that. If that does not work try the others, but dont shot-gun them all in at once. -- _________________________________________________ No I Don't Yahoo!
