Second time through, same ... until I noticed that when it asked for #3 and I clicked on the EJECT button on the dialog box (first time through I had ejected using the button on the DVD drive instead of the mouse button), it slid the carrier for the *CD burner drive* out instead of the DVD drive that I had started the install with.
I put #3 in the CD burner drive and continued, and it finished the install of #3, #4, and #5 all using the CD burner.
Somehow the install got confused and switched drives in the middle of the install.
AFAIK, YaST checks *all* CD/DVD drives each time it requests another CD. BTW, that's a good way to avoid this annoying "please change CD" message: while installing CD 1, put CD 2 into the other drive. When installing from CD 2, remove CD 1 from the first drive and replace it with CD 3... (The last time I tested this was on 9.0.)
I've never seen *that* happen before!
It should not happen. If you still have the YaST logs, go to bugzilla.novell.com and enter a bugreport. Also append the y2logs since the YaST maintainers will ask for them otherwise ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- Der von Ihnen vielleicht erwartete Input wird zu dem eines verstimmten Mitarbeiters oder eines Crackers der Monate Zeit hat, oder einer Katze, die über die Tastatur läuft in keinerlei Zusammenhang stehen.
