I'm in the process of upgrading to the 2.4.2 kernel. One thing that has always confused me is the module-info file in the /boot directory. Once I compile a new kernel, I always get a System.map file, which I copy to /boot/System.map-kernel version, and then make a link to /boot/System.map. However, I have a module-info link, which is pointing to module-info-2.2.16-22. Where does this module-info file come from, so that I can update this as well? I've done a make modules and make modules_install, but that doesn't seem to be enough.
