I follow up my own post.
SuSEfirewall was preventing access on 10.0.0.0 network for me.
When I stopped SuSEfirewall I was able to telnet to the modem at 10.0.0.138.
Actually, this is a good sign, it means I am protected by SuSEfirewall by default.
AFAIK when you get the ADSL connection on your adsl modem gets a diffrent ip from the provider. like mine was 10.xxx.xx.12 you can ping that adress traceroute what ever. it is connected to your ISP's switch. If you had a look to my earlier post todayI had forwarded an email I received from alcatel Turkey support. It is based on the speed touch series on and 1000 ADSL is not covered (and it does not ahve firewall anyway IIRC) HTH -- Togan Muftuoglu
