Hi Ben, Does the "Speedstep" functionality work alright in Linux? Thanks for the help, I wanted to try to be as informed about Linux compatibility as possible... BTW, if anyone else knows about that soundcard chipset, please let me know. Dell talks about the Maestro 3i, but neither www.esstech.com or www.alsa-project.org mention that chipset. I can find info on the Maestro 2 though. Perhaps I should contact Dell, they seem to be getting more Linux conscious. -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. Tim,
Well, I can answer the ATI Rage Question..you can use it with 3.3.6 but you will have to use XF86Setup because SaX has issues with this chipset. As far as the CPU there should be any worries. I am not sure about the soundcard chipset..you should check out the alsa website to see if it's supported.

Mainly, I just was wonder how compatible that sound card is with OSS or -->perferably ALSA, and how well it's ATI 2x AGP 8MB RAGE MobilityM-1 3D video card -->would work with X 3.3.6 or 4.01? -->
