Platform: Suse 9.2, ftp-iso install Nvidia GeForce 5200 Video card Problem: I am not able to Enable 3-D Configuration after installing an NVidia GeForce 5200 video card using the standard documented installation procedure. I did the following: 1) Installed the NVidia driver via YOU Patches. 2) Used Control Center to deselect the (nv) driver and pick an NVidia driver for the GeForce 5200. 3) At that point, 3-D acceleration is already selected ( which is what the documentation tells me should happen )... Here is the documentation: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/nvidia-installer-HOWTO#3 4) After finalizing the selection, I notice that 3-D is now set to Disabled! (And I've gone through the process at least 3 times now ). 5) If I run /glxgears/ or /glxinfo/ I see that there is no direct rendering or 3D support. I am really hoping not to have to compile my own kernel modules. I bought this card today after looking in the Novell/Suse hardware database list and it said specifically that it was supported "Fully" including 3D, so I'm kind of steamed !!!!
