Whatever it was disappeared: I don't see the messages in the log now.
Well, this is a brand new clean install with all updates so the problem is still there. Do you remember doing anything to stop the messages? There is a message in that thread which tells how to shut off the log messages through config but that doesn't fix anything; all that does is hides whatever bug is in there to begin with and which is causing the error messages. "Out of sight, out of mind" as we say here...
Ah. Did I...? :-? I see this rule: # NetworkManager into separate file and stop their further processing # if ($programname == 'NetworkManager') or \ ($programname startswith 'nm-') \ then { -/var/log/NetworkManager stop } So lets go see that file. Well, my memory is not what it was, obviously :-} ... 3.6> 2017-05-06 03:14:23 minas-tirith NetworkManager 5938 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Network is unreachable' <3.6> 2017-05-06 03:14:24 minas-tirith NetworkManager 5938 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Network is unreachable' <3.6> 2017-05-11 17:38:55 minas-tirith NetworkManager 5938 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Network is unreachable' <3.6> 2017-05-11 17:38:55 minas-tirith NetworkManager 5938 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Network is unreachable' <3.6> 2017-05-11 17:38:55 minas-tirith NetworkManager 5938 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Network is unreachable' <3.6> 2017-05-15 03:13:39 minas-tirith NetworkManager 18673 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Error resolving 'conncheck.opensuse.org': Temp <3.6> 2017-05-15 03:14:19 minas-tirith NetworkManager 18673 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Error resolving 'conncheck.opensuse.org': Temp <3.6> 2017-05-15 03:14:59 minas-tirith NetworkManager 18673 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Error resolving 'conncheck.opensuse.org': Temp <3.6> 2017-05-15 03:18:23 minas-tirith NetworkManager 18673 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Error resolving 'conncheck.opensuse.org': Temp <3.6> 2017-05-19 16:08:13 minas-tirith NetworkManager 2303 - - <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Network is unreachable' I do not know if those errors were real or not, though. I mean, as I hibernate and restore this machine, it could be that the network was really down the instant it tried. There is no longer a message every 5 minutes in this machine. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" (Minas Tirith))
