What you did NOT do however was take the time to do a simple search in YaST2 which would have shown you that
yes,
kdeadmin3 (and therefore kpackage) IS included with SuSE 8.1 (Infact it
was
in 8.0 and 7.3 and probably earlier versions also)
Downloading Kpackage as source and RPM has not been a successful experience.
Sorry for that. Why were you trying to download it? Its on the CD (and the SuSE ftp site)
I was not aware that it was on the CD. How can it be accessed?
If you run YaST2, from the Software section, select "Install or Remove Software" In the top right corner of the screen that pops up, there is a drop down box titled "Filters". Change it from "Selections" to "Search" and type "kdeadmin3" in the search box and hit search, you will see it. Alternatively if you were to select "Package Groups" instead of "Search" you will see it in the group "System - GUI - KDE" -- Peter Nixon http://www.peternixon.net/ PGP Key: http://www.peternixon.net/public.asc
