It seems that ipchains doesn't work for me... I get:

iptables seems to work fine though. In looking through the kernel config (/boot/vmlinuz.config) I do not see the older ipchains options, only netfilter.
Is this a permanent change? Has ipchains been dropped in lieu of netfilter?
hi, you have a module loaded called ip_tables. As long as this is loaded, ipchains can't be, since they collide. Turn off your network connection, rmmod all modules listed in the []-list beside ip_tables in lsmod. I also had to rmmod ip_conntrack. Then do modprobe ipchains and restart the network and you can use the old ipchains like nothing's happened. No reason why you should, though, unless you have a lot of scripts for them. iptables are much better, so if you can I suggest you migrate. regards Anders
