I tried to work with SuSe 9.2 kDE but didnt work . My desktop is celeron 634mhz 256mb 20gb broadband running SuSe 9.2
could you explain a little bit more about what exactly didn't "work in Suse 9.2 kde?" I have it running on three separate boxes here, which go from a poor lowley Celeron to gee whiz athlon " THe only "problem" was the ncurses install on the celeron. Apparently teh suse install script wasn't happy w/ the "on board" graphoics chip. Once past the install all is peachy and the kde desktop is actually faster than the old 9.1 version was... You can make the basic setup fairly lite weight if you don't use KDE but substiture something like xface or Black Box or I suspect a whole boatload of other windows managers which are included w/ Suse . There are even screensavers that are really easy on resources, like pacman and pong ( tho pong would really benefit from a sound file added to it <G>) There are even good looking but resource lite screensavers that are more complex, but I just enjoyed having the thing look like it had a pong match running on it.. <G> Is your problem w/ the installation or are you trying to run it from the Eval CD ??? so a bit more information is needed if we are to help you , otherwise, welcome aboard! -- j -- nemo me impune lacessit
