Hi I have a byterunner Tc800 multiport card and all seems to be configured correctly according to the docs. In /etc/rc.d/serial I have: run_setserial /dev/ttyS2 uart 16550A port 0x100 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS3 uart 16550A port 0x108 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS4 uart 16550A port 0x110 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS5 uart 16550A port 0x118 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS6 uart 16550A port 0x120 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS7 uart 16550A port 0x128 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS8 uart 16550A port 0x130 irq 5 run_setserial /dev/ttyS9 uart 16550A port 0x138 irq 5 And in inittab I have: # Standard COM ports mo:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 /dev/ttyS0 m1:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 /dev/ttyS1 # ByteRunner TC-800 m2:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS2 m3:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS3 m4:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS4 m5:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS5 m6:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS6 m7:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS7 m8:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS8 m9:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 57600 -n 2 /dev/ttyS9 On booting, the serial card comes up an indicates no errors. The modems get intitalised ok, but when ports ttyS4 and above accept a call, they start handshaking and then hangup. I have ppp configured the same for all ports (except the assigned IP's of course). One curious thing is that when for instance ttyS5 answers, ttyS6 also seems to be receiving soem data. The card is configured for shared interupts and irq 5 is available. I tried different modems and differnt phone lines etc, all to no avail. I'm running SuSE 6.3 . Anyone got any ideas?
