Can anybody tell me why simply upgrading Postfix via YOU would end up creating a new main.cf file that is mostly correct but deleted a few configuration lines that broke my mailman virtual domained lists?
Seems like YOU should leave the existing main.cf pretty much alone and not delete stuff.
This is in no way going to help you...but you helped me. I was going to do that in another couple minutes, but now I'm all scared. You're right though. I'm always nervous using YOU, which is why I switched to apt (synaptic). I rarely have a problem.
Good luck!
P.S. Funny how we're the only guys posting at this time of night, huh?

Hi Tom, Well it's just annoying. I have a backup file of main.cf that I was able to compare against what YOU ended up creating. So it wasn't a big deal to fix the problem. However, I had about 6 mail lists ( via mailman ) that went broken for nearly a full 12 hours. YOU ( or Postfix ) or added a relay_host line in main.cf for me. For god sake, if I wanted one *I* would have put one in. I am a bit of a night owl, plus it's only 11:18PM on the West Coast in the U.S. :-) -Jim-
