[SLE] linux will not respond to any input from the kbd

Hi Anyone knows why when I unplug my PS/2 mouse, and then when start X windows, my computer will not respond to anything I press in my keyboard and I have to restart my computer using the reset switch. Things will return to normal when I plug in the mouse again. I have SuSE 6.4...
