Where is it? http://en.opensuse.org/Restricted_Formats is missing links to anything useful getting them to work, while http://susewiki.org/index.php?title=Category:Howto seems to have only bits and pieces, with no real guide how or where to proceed to get mpeg or mp3 players to play anything. Seems the index is missing some page that runs down the various formats and then points to what's needed to get them to work. Compare https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats
The opensuse-community site hosts certain information that cannot be included on opensuse.org for legal reasons. See http://opensuse-community.org/Restricted_Formats
I think it was apparent from what I wrote I knew I needed a page about restricted formats. I guess the better question would have been What web URL is home to the howto for finding all the *opensuse*.org and any other base URLs one needs to know about in order to find necessary things to complete an install and get decent self-help. I found from that *community* URL the codecs-kde.ymp one-click and ran it, but Amarok doesn't acknowledge .mp3 as a playable format. Ogg works, Kaffeine plays mpegs, and Youtubes work. -- "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?" Matthew 7:12 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
