I currently use the following command to set my alias for eth0:1
ifconfig eth0:1 38.160.70.177 netmask 255.255.255.255 broadcast 255.255.255.255 up
How can I have this persistently come up after each reboot?
Should I go thru the yast utility or add it to an rc script?
YaST2 cannot do it at 8.1 time I think. Create a file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0:1 with this content: STARTMODE=onboot IPADDR=38.160.70.177/32
Or does ifconfig have a persistent flag I can set?
No. Peter
