Hey Group; Recently I was having problems as a "user" with two out of 20 icons on the KDE desktop in SuSE10 Beta 4. SuSE was not the cause directly. "SuSEconfig" maybe the exception. Tonight while talking to Sid via Skype I finally saw the common thread for why the two programs icons would fail. For background if I ran the program "zapping" from a xterm - it worked! However the icon for Zapping would fails - NO OUTWARD CLUE! I was trying it in xterm with "/opt/gnome/bin/zapping" which failed. When running "zapping" without "/opt/gnome/bin/" it worked. Simply changing the icons path to zapping" omitting the /opt/gnome/bin fixed both programs. I did have permission to go directly through /opt/gnome/bin but my "echo $PATH" which allowed me to execute the program. I never saw any error come from KDE except the that bouncing mouse pointer just dying -- 73 de Donn Washburn Hpage:" http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB Email: " n5xwb@hal-pc.org " 307 Savoy St. HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador LL# 1.281.242.3256 " http://counter.li.org " #279316
