10.0 worked ok, but there were some problems the other day, and probably they have occured due to it has been almost 3 month ago since I have had it switched on. Then there has been many updates during this time, and my experiences tells me, that this is not a problem with Yast, but I beleive it is with smart.
IMHO, Smart has not withstood the test of time. I think people rushed to it when zmd/zypp was so horribly broken and pre-maturely released. Therefore I've avoided it. I think i'd trust Fou4s more. http://fou4s.gaugusch.at/ But I finally got the whole zmd/zypp thingie working. You are right, there have been a rash of kernel updates lately, way too many for my tastes. (Mostly not Suse's fault). Some things I run, (VMWare, MythTv, etc) require a bit of hacking to get running after a a kernel update, so unless there are remote exploits, I hold off till a convenient time. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
