I am wondering the same thing. Worse, when I had to do a hard reboot, fsck found an unattached inode. I fixed it. Went to lost+found and saw it was a copy of the mtab. Scary, since I've finally got this machine working mostly the way I want. By the way I have 196Meg of ram. Rob. David Porter wrote:
Can't the operating system defend itself against this in some way? I don't run as root, so it seems that I shouldn't be able to use all the resources and essentialy freeze the computer. Maybe there is a feature I am unaware of?
