Question is: Where and what do I do to have the settings maintained between reboots? It is probably some init file at boot but which one and what do I put in there?
Hi Bob, Would you be willing to do a brief experiment? Create or edit the file ~/.gtkrc-2.0 Put in a line like this: gtk-font-name = "Adobe Helvetica 12" Use a typeface and size that you *know* is installed on your system. You can find an appropriate candidate in KDE Control Center under the fonts installer module. Be sure to enter the name in .gtkrc-2.0 *exactly* as it appears in Control Center. Can you please confirm that this solution "sticks" between boots? This is the third time I've seen such a thread. I'm sure this procedure worked for me and has worked for others. It's supposed to make autoloading Gnome Control Center unnecessary when you're running KDE... It would be nice to have an 'in situ' real life confirmation that it still works. regards, - Carl
