Hi.
A friend of mine has a ;aptop running OS 11.2 and KDE 4.3.5 would like to update to 4.4. whatever the most recent stable
What is the URL to do a complete KDE update meaning everything the Suse extras the lot
I have:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Desktop/openSUS... http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/Desktop/openS... http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Playground/Desktop/open...
Is the order of package movement through the reps like this (and in this order)?:
kde.org
| V
KDE:/KDE4:/Factory: = latest stuff. Changes regularly.
| V
KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE: = a copy of Factory: at some time when things looked good. Changes much less often than Factory:
| V
update/11.2 = KDE4 to replace the questionable one in the 11.2 distro. Changed once.
While you are absolutely correct, when users are asking for the location of KDE repos it is far easier / safer to simply refer to http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Repositories which hopefully will never go out of date, and has a more detailed explanation of what is in each repo than can fit in an email. It is just a recommendation to avoid quoting actual repository url's (which could change) in communication.
