Warning: Linux newbie! I've re-installed SuSE Linux 9.0 Professional 4 times, but am having various problems (hence the re-installations). The most annoying is that, using the Gnome interface, the Log Out option from the main menu locks the Panel up. The Log Out dialog isn't displayed and the Panel becomes unresponsive. I have to kill off Gome Panel using a terminal, the Panel re-appears and becomes active again, but Log Out locks it up again. On the first 3 installations, it was OK initially but something caused it to suddenly behave like this. On the fourth installation, it behaved this way right from the start - I did an initial log in and then tried to log out straight away, but it locked up. Now I'm getting fed up! Can anyone help? I haven't downloaded any patches or bug fixes yet, as it's a waste of time if I have to re-install from scratch again. Each installation I did was a New Installation. Many thanks, Chris. -- Chris Simon osian@zetnet.co.uk http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/csimon/
