Hi
Thanks for all your help sofar.
I got the speed sorted by adding async in /etc/exports.
What i am uncertain of is that when the client loged into X and opens terminal or basicaly any other app it will query the ldap server asin you can see hard drive activity on the ldap server. Is this because the clients home dir is on the ldap server?
Sorry, I'm missing here. Where are you exporting the homes from? please note that nscd reduces the rate of service requests on ldap clients. Also check the loglevel of the ldap server, too high values causes a lot of activity on disks. -- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GCS/IT d- s+:+() a31 C+++ UBL+++$ P+ L+++ E--- W++ N+ o++ K- w--- O+ M+ V- PS+ PE+ Y++ PGP+>+++ t+ 5 X+$ R- tv-- b+++ DI D++>+++ G++ e- h+(++) !r !z ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------
