It's missing from my 9.2 --> 9.3 upgrade together with /etc/init.d/udev, but udevd is running. can anyone confirm that this is correct as I can't find them on the DVD. The admin guide page 346 says there should be a /sbin/hotplug, I only have /sbin/hotplugeventrecorder. rebuilding from source rpm udev-053-15.2, no /sbin/hotplug and I'm unable to access any USB devices. Hi Sid,
On two 9.3 installs on (1) dual P-III and (2) AMD-XP3000 I find only /sbin/hotplugeventrecorder. BUT my USB devices are all working better than on any previous release. USB Ext HD 160GB, USB FlashDisks, and USB BlueTooth adapter.

lsusb comes up empty on both 64-bit (x86_64 install) and 32-bit laptops, so I don't even see the USB ports. I first noticed it on the USB ext 120G, then on the webcam and kodak DX3600, the 120G is now up on 9.2 x86. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
