This is not the case in SuSE 9.2.
rc.config was superseded long ago, in version 9.0 I think. It went to several files in /etc/sysconfig/. You can create that file if you need it, SuSE (ie, Yast) will not use it for anything.
It was with the 9.1.
How is the rc.config job being done here ?.
I have a file, that needs the /etc/rc.config:
Then modify your file: it is obsolete.
