No luck: suillus:/home/pwa # apt -d install k_athlon Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done k_athlon is already the newest version. You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these: The following packages have unmet dependencies: Kernel-Win4Lin3: Depends: k_athlon (= 2.4.21-144) but 2.4.21-192 is to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
Out of interest, why do you only want to download the rpm?
A couple of reasons: 1. I'd like to retrieve the package without having to use root privileges, and apt-get seems to want to write to a directory that isn't writable by ordinary users. 2. More important, I may be uninstalling and reinstalling it several times if I run into any problems. Paul Abrahams
