I'm running kmail on openSuSE 11.0. I find that I only get new mail when I restart my computer. If I check for new mail it doesn't report an error. It just says that there is no new mail. If I log out and then in again and check for new mail is says that there is none. When I reboot, I get mail from days ago.
Anyone have any ideas about what's going on or a possible fix? Kmail version 1.9.9 (Using KDE 3.5.9 "release 49.1" openSUSE 11.0, 32-bit, pop3 email account)
Just a wild guess: when you installed your system, did you told yast what your pop3 account was? ls -l /etc/fetchmailrc chkconfig fetchmail If the second command answers "on", then issue "chkconfig fetchmail off". We'll think later where your mail has gone to - if that was the problem. If not, we'll think again :-) (Ok, if not, try loggin out and in to kde, instead of rebooting) - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
