Hi, newbie here :-)
I have SuSE installed on my laptop as a dual boot option. I recently ran Yast Online Update for the first time.
After the Update completed my eth0 is down and I am not online anymore from SuSE.
Any ideas why this happened?
I don't know how to get eth0 running again, any suggestions?

What does ifconfig show? I suggest logging out of you windows session, then going to tty1 with Ctrl+Alt+F1. Then login as root. enter init 1 to bring your system down to runlevel 1. That stops all the network stuff, and just about everything else. You will then be promted for the root password which you should enter. Then enter init 3. This will bring your system up to the network runlevel without X. Watch what happens. If you just installed the new kernel, you may have a problem with module mismatch. I'll have to think a bit about how to address that. Be sure you are booting from the harddrive, and not the DVD or CD. Enter ls -l /usr/src and take a look at where the /usr/src/linux is linked. Type uname -a and see if it shows the same version number as the directory to which /usr/src/linux is linked. -- Regards, Steven
