As reported by several list members, it appears that this no longer works in TW, and I can confirm that it also does not work out-of-box with Leap 15.3. A bit of digging around the web came up with a solution: install the package ibus and reboot. Voilà, it works again, except in a console (including eg. Konsole).
Well, working in the terminal is an absolute need for me, so this solution is not acceptable to me.
Carlos, you have to be the only person on this list who would say this. Refusing to use a partial solution simply because you cannot use it in some particular instance seems rather silly to me. Besides, I already found the solution to enable it in a console, half an hour before you posted your reply.
By default, this will put a panel in the system tray that allows one to configure the beast to one's preferences. There are also a lot of supplementary packages that I haven't examined yet. I have no idea what any of them do, or why/when they might be needed.
At least with just this one package, the basic functioning can be restored. Next silly question, why is ibus not included as part of the default configuration at install time?
It got installed by default in my systems some time ago and I had to remove it.
When I was running 15.2, the key combo worked well everywhere. I have no idea if ibus was installed in that system, but I had no reason to go looking. Installing at least the ibus core package is the only resolution I was able to find on the internet. If you can find something else, by all means let us all know.
