Hi I'm using a mitsumi-compliant optical USB-mouse, and 7.2 installation did regognice it, and it is working 100%. I have done zero changes go mouse settings. With 7.0 I was not successful to use USB-mouse, so I just used the PS/2 mouse. So with 7.2 there should be no problem I think. Jaska. Viestissä Maanantai 24. A while back I tried to get SuSE 7.2 to recognize a usb mouse which was plugged into a usb port. I got many suggestions from the list, but no matter what I tried it just wouldn't work.
I took a little poll on this list and no one was using a usb port. Everyone used a ps/2 port.
I just installed SuSE 7.2 on a machine that has the same kind of mouse, but it's plugged into the ps/2 port, and the mouse was recognized and works ok. The wheel even works.
I have had the same experience. I have never had success using a USB mouse in Linux. I can't say for sure about 7.2, since I didn't even bother trying. I just connect my MS Intellimouse Optical to the PS2 port since I know for sure it will work there.
