The link Gertjan provide shows the final solution for the Ubuntu user:
sudo deluser --system --remove-all-files test
I used the Yast User and Group Management to remove the user and files. Is that any different?
Late-reply,
No, but make sure you look for a check box that says "remove all user file" or something similar.
Notice that this means "/home/[user]", not any other file in the filesystem that may belong to the user. It doesn't do a search. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.2 x86_64 at Telcontar)
