I would not call it nonsense, more "fancy stuff"
Side note rant: While I agree that some of this ... bling-bling? ... is indeed useful, I often am tempted to call it nonsense, too. At least as long as really essential BUGS like an un-usable LMB in the Plasma root in Desktop mode aren't looked at IN YEARS.
