when ever i post to suse list i get double messages one from you like this
Most mailers have two options on replies: Reply to sender - goes to the sender of the original message Reply to all - goes to the sender and all recipients (not sure about bcc's) of the original message. When you send a message to this mailing list, the list server re-sends it to everyone but still coming from you. So the first option sends a reply to you only. The second option sends a copy to the list, so people who want their replies posted to the list will choose that option. However, it also sends a copy directly to you. SOME of the headers will be different, between the copy that goes straight to you and the copy that the list server forwards to you, so few if any mail programs will realize they are duplicates. I am on some other mailing lists where a mail from the list is send *from* the list "on behalf of" the original sender. On those lists, a "reply to sender" goes only to the list. However that would require a different configuration of the list server, and possibly different server software (for the most part I ignore the list server software, so I have no idea what anyone's running and don't particularly care). Those other lists are a bit more elegant, but this one works just fine. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
