Is the problem associated with file system access, e.g. many or large files which causes high activity? Luckely my Servers are on SLES 10 and SLES 9, one DRBD cluster running (don't laugh) on two SATA RAID 5 Novell SUSE 10.0 flawlessly since 2005.01.01.
What else than reducing disk access can be done?
If you would actually read the entire thread at Dell instead of discounting it because it starts out talking about RAID, you might find an answer. The problem appears to be due to intensive disk activity, with a large number of simultaneous access requests. The suggested workaround is to increase the timeout. I believe that has to be done per drive, but see the thread. -- Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue. -- François de La Rochefoucauld -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
