I tried to setup my Lexmark T520 printer on 11.1 and was unable to do so via YaST. It scanned the network and found the printer (I am using the internal Lexmark printserver) and then reported that there were no drivers. While this is correct, it does not let me pick an alternate driver (I think in previous versions Lexmark Optra S was suggested as a driver, but if it wasn't I was able to select it with no hassle). I then selected the option to add the driver and followed the process to import the PPD (In this case over 11.0 it is improved, since the Lexmark PPD is not 100% compliant, previously it was not possible at all to use it via YaST) when that process is completed I am returned to the screen where the network discovery was done, but the previous results are no longer there. Rescanning the network starts the process over -- it continues to report there is no correct driver.
I headed over to http://localhost:631 and scanned the LAN, found the printer, and when I went to add it the T520 PPD I had imported was automatically selected as the prefered driver.
Has anyone else had issues when trying to add a networked PostScript printer via YaST on 11.1?
Yep, had the same problem with a Canon IP3000. Tried to install and was told no drivers. Came back the following day (had been late at night....) fired up cups and installed without a prob...
