Listmates, 11.0 apparently doesn't update dns. The occurs over both wired (dhcpcd) and wireless (dhclient) connections. Server is running 10.3 and bind 9.4.1. Both wired and wireless connect find and receive address, gateway, wins and dns info just fine. Another strange difference between 10.3 and 11.0 is that dhcpcd/dhclient on 11.0 receive addresses starting at the middle of the available IP range compared to 10.3 that get IPs assigned from the top of the range and count down: Server: /etc/dhcpd.conf range dynamic-bootp 192.168.6.110 192.168.6.150; Client: /var/log/messages Wired: Jun 24 23:48:15 linux network: Starting the NetworkManager Jun 24 23:48:19 linux kernel: r8169: eth0: link up Jun 24 23:48:19 linux dhclient: Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client V3.0.6 Jun 24 23:48:19 linux dhclient: Copyright 2004-2007 Internet Systems Consortium. There seem to be problems with the 11.0 nm-dispatcher which I have no knowledge of. So is this a bug to report or a new feature? -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
