Since your reply suggests that a) you installed SuSE 9.1 after unplugging all your USB devices, and b) when you plugged them in again, they worked, I'd welcome any ideas you may have.
Hi, Gordon, I may have misled inadvertently- I had some problems (slow boots, boot hanging) when using SuSE 9.0, when USB devices were plugged in, whether or not they were switched on. (In another reply I have pointed out that I am using a Trust USB 4-way extension from one of the mb sockets). When I installed 9.1 (clean install), I had no devices plugged in, neither did I when I upgraded from 9.0 on another drive. I have had no problems with 9.1 and USB (tempts fate, crosses fingers), but this may be because I only have "plug-in when I need them" devices, and none were plugged in when I installed. I have had no problems with 9.1- but that may be because of the above. Terence
