Yes I did enable all 3 of the options mentioned. I have done about 10 installs so far with "make clean" and "rm -f ...modules/*" etc. etc. and still no luck..
As I understand it there is no support for this version unless you buy the full package which I don't need for my isa sb64.
Hmm. Well, without more info I'm not sure why you've run into this problem, but rest assured that it IS possible, without buying the full package. Until I switched to the kernel sound modules, I was using 6.3/2.2.14 with the bundled OSS drivers. I prefer the kernel modules, but if you'd still like to keep trying to get OSS to work, feel free to catch me on ICQ or something, ok? Sorry my earlier message wasn't of any help.
Kinda makes me want to go back to FreeBSD or my old PDP-8..........
Plenty of good reasons to use FreeBSD, too. I dual boot Linux/FreeBSD. Best of both worlds.
