I want to install SusE 7.1 on a windows 2000 box. I already have the drive configured. My question is how to configure LiLo to allow a GUI boot screen for Windows 2000 or Suse.
If I'm remembering correctly, SuSE will detect that you have another OS installed and LILO will deal accordingly. However, if it doesn't, you can do the following after installation: Find the partition that has Windows installed. This will typically be /dev/hda1 for IDE drives, or /dev/sda1 for SCSI drives. (You should see all your partitions early on in the SuSE installation process; make a note of which one(s) are listed as Windows partitions.) Edit /etc/lilo.conf and add these lines at the end: other=/dev/hda1 # replace hda1 with the correct drive partition label=win2k table=/dev/hda # replace hda with the correct drive When that's done, run the command /sbin/lilo and you should be all set. -tara
