I just upgraded to 9.2 and am trying to get Azureus to work.. I download the latest version, un tar it and type the ./azureus. After a short while it aborts with the error message: Couldnt find per display information.
Why wouldn't you use an rpm package build specifically for *your* SuSE distro: ftp://ftp.oxixares.com/pub/rpms/SuSE_9.2/azureus-2.2.0.2-0.gbv.1.i586.rpm
I've googled, gargled and giggled all I can and can only find a reference to the command xhost which when run gets me this error:
xhost: unable to open display "richdell.mojado:0.0"
I've tried it as root and user with the same results.
I suspect it has to do with the setup/config of x.org but cant find anything and I'm not smart enough to figure it out. Can anyone give me a hint?
yes, root does not have permission to use the display,
"richdell.mojado:0.0". You have to give it permission.
sudo /<path-to-executable>/azureus
or
sux -
then start azureus
